Here are some easy and fun, "match the pair" games you can make for your child. These games can play an important part in developing logical thinking in kids.
You can start with selecting a theme for your game. You should select the theme as per age and liking of your child. Here are some example themes:
- Animals / birds and their young ones
- Animals / birds and their food
- Animals / birds and their homes
- Alphabets and words
- Count the number and add
MATERIAL REQUIRED
Cardboard &/or chart paper, drawings according to theme or cutouts (printouts from internet or from coloring books), scissor, glue and Velcro
STEP 1
Make cutouts as per your selected theme. Here we are showing the theme of animals and their homes.STEP 2
Cut the cardboard or chart paper in size such that it can hold all the cutouts in 2 column fashion.STEP 3
We have selected "animal and their homes" theme for this game. So, glue all the home cutouts, one below another to form the first column.STEP 4
Cut the velcro into appropriate sized pieces. Glue male side of the velcro strip on the cardboard to form second column. This column is for the child to attach appropriate animal cutouts.STEP 5
On the backside of animal cutouts, glue the female side of velcro.Your game is ready!
HOW TO PLAY
The concept as you know, is very simple. You can add some excitement for the child by saying phrases like -
Animal Saying: "Oh my God, I am not able to find my home! Hey kid, can you show me my home?"
Repeat the name of animal and name of its home every time, to improve your child's vocabulary.
